The Department of Data Science and Analytics was founded upon the innovative vision of Bursa Technical University, in strict alignment with Turkey's national strategies for digital transformation and artificial intelligence. Endorsed by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) under the "Professions of the Future" initiative, the department commenced its academic journey by admitting its inaugural cohort of undergraduate students on September 30, 2024.

Despite its recent inception, the department garnered substantial interest in the central placement examinations during its first year, rapidly distinguishing itself as one of the most prominent informatics-oriented programs within the university. Built upon a robust interdisciplinary framework, the department offers a comprehensive curriculum spanning a broad spectrum from statistical analysis to advanced machine learning.

Strategically located in Bursa, a major industrial hub, the department continues its development anchored in strong industrial collaborations to address the region's critical data processing and analytics requisites. With the prospective launch of graduate programs and the graduation of our first alumni, we remain steadfastly committed to our mission of cultivating the experts who will shape and steer Turkey's data economy.
