Summer School Principles

A)PRINCIPLES REGARDING THE COURSES THAT BURSA TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY STUDENTS CAN TAKE IN OTHER HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS WITHIN THE SCOPE OF SUMMER SCHOOL


1- BTU students can take courses from other state or foundation universities, higher technology institutes or equivalent foreign higher education institutions recognized by YÖK within the scope of summer school, if deemed appropriate by the unit management board after consulting the relevant department/program.

2- Students who want to take courses from other higher education institutions within the scope of summer school; shall submit a petition together with;

* The content of the course they will take,

* The language of instruction of the course,

* The credits (ECTS) and hours of the course,

* The approved document containing the summer school academic calendar, to their department at least two weeks before the start of summer school.

3- The senate determines which other higher education institutions can be taken courses in the summer education. If the higher education institutions where courses can be taken in the summer education are not determined, the student can take courses in the summer education from the university that offers a program higher than the base score of the university's program in the relevant year.

4- A maximum of 2 (two) courses can be taken from other higher education institutions in a semester, provided that they do not conflict with internship dates, but the total number of courses taken during the entire academic year cannot exceed 4 (four).

5- Students can take from other higher education institutions within the scope of the summer school;

* Courses that they previously took in the fall and spring semesters and failed,

* Courses that they could not take even though they were opened in the fall and spring semesters,

* Courses that students with a GPA of at least 3.00 and who have passed all courses up to the current semester can take from the previous semester,

* Courses that they previously passed but want to increase their grades.

8- Students registered in the preparatory class cannot take any other courses from the summer education of other universities, except for the summer education opened by BTU School of Foreign Languages.

9- Students who freeze their registration cannot take courses from the summer school for the period they freeze their registration.

10- Students who are suspended for one year and one semester can take courses from the summer school after the end of their penalty.

11- The grade of the course taken from other higher education institutions within the scope of the summer education is converted into the grades specified in the “Bursa Technical University Undergraduate Programs Exemption Exams, Course Equivalence, Adaptation Procedures and Principles” by the relevant departmental adaptation committees and after being approved by the relevant Faculty Board of Directors, it is sent to the Student Affairs Department to be processed into the automation system.

12- The grade of the course taken from other higher education institutions within the scope of the summer education is shown in a section to be opened under the name of “Summer School” in the transcripts.

13- The grade of the course taken from other higher education institutions within the scope of the summer education is the latest grade.
