According to the Council of Ministers decision published in the Legal Gazette dated 21.07.2010 and numbered 27648, Bursa Technical University, established as the 5th technical university in Turkey and the 2nd university in Bursa, with 6 Faculties, 2 Institutes, and 1 Vocational School, under the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Architecture and Engineering, our department, established in 2012 as the first and only Department of Fiber and Polymer Engineering in our country, was renamed as Polymer Materials Engineering with the decision taken on March 20, 2020.

The Master's program has been admitting students since the Spring semester of the 2012-2013 academic year, the Doctorate Program since the Spring semester of the 2013-2014 academic year, and the Undergraduate Program has been admitting students since the Fall semester of the 2015-2016 academic year.

The language of instruction is 30% English in both the undergraduate and doctoral programs, while it is Turkish in the Master's program.

Our department has a total of 10 faculty members, including 3 professors, 4 associate professors, and 3 assistant professors, as well as 6 research assistants.
