What is the Physics?

Physics is a body of laws that examines nature, the behaviors of materials, the building blocks of matter, the concept of space-time, and the concepts of force and energy within the framework of cause and effect relationships. Individuals who study and research this broad-spectrum science are called physicists. Physics is intertwined with almost all fundamental sciences, engineering sciences, health sciences, and social sciences. The Physics department, on the other hand, is an academic discipline that provides education on all comprehensive subjects falling within the scope of physics, the most fundamental branch of science, and conducts research, experiments, and observations.

Career Opportunities

Physicists, if they make good use of the education provided to them and are open to self-improvement, can work in many fields in both corporate and small-scale companies. Additionally, physicists with strong research skills and a willingness to pursue a career in academia can pursue an academic career. They can work in defense industry companies (such as TÜBİTAK, Aselsan, TUSAŞ, Roketsan) and in the private sector in the field of optoelectronics. They can work as experts in the energy sector, renewable energy, and energy storage, in the industry sector, in industrial zones, factories, etc., in R&D centers, in the production of high-quality materials (polymeric, metallic, ceramic, nanotechnological, etc.), in health and medical physics fields, in companies that require expertise in radiation, atomic, molecular, and particle physics, in laboratories, in various companies for the production and installation of health equipment consisting of many sub-systems such as NMR and medical devices, operating rooms, in the automotive sector in R&D and test centers for products such as batteries and battery, in occupational health and safety units, in fire, sound, etc., in isolation test centers, in nuclear power plants for installation, operation, repair, modification, etc., in educational consultancy units, in the execution of quality control processes with industrial radiography, in units where space and aviation studies are conducted, in scientific research projects, and as academicians in universities. Physicists can be employed in many fields listed above, and there is a need for physicists in these fields in the industry.
