Industrial Engineering is a branch of engineering which aims to increase the efficiency, productivity and quality of the organizations in the production and service sector. It is also a branch of engineering that enables the design, development, control and effective management of business systems consisting of human, technology, material, information, energy and capital resources. In other words, it is an engineering that tries to design, plan, improve and control the effective systems that can solve the complex problems in the production / service sector.
Industrial engineer; It is a planning engineer who designs and manages systems and processes, manages and manages them in the most appropriate way. Industrial engineer; It is the top level manager who determines how to decide between alternative decisions with scientific methods. Industrial engineer; is an R & D engineer who continuously pursues innovation and coordinates new product development projects to meet customer requirements. Industrial engineer; is a quality engineer who improves the service and product quality of the institution and applies the total quality philosophy. It is an efficiency engineer who reduces costs, increases the competitiveness of the enterprise, ensures efficiency increase and ensures that all activities are carried out at the optimum level. In summary, industrial engineers are the leaders of today and tomorrow.
Industrial Engineer acquires the competence of engineering discipline by gaining basic knowledge of mathematics, science, social and computer sciences. In this direction, the aim of the Industrial Engineering education given in our faculty is to train individuals who have the leadership characteristics, can keep up with the modern age and continuously increase the efficiency and productivity of the institutions they work in. In other words, to educate engineers who are conscious and socially responsible in providing social and individual welfare and developing solution models that will offer science and technology to the service of humanity.
Industrial engineering department includes operations research (management science), production planning and control, applied statistics, quality control, human resource management, computer programming, database management systems, artificial intelligence and expert systems, logistics, flexible manufacturing systems, business science and work study, investment analysis and planning, engineering economics, material management, project management, ergonomics.
Students who have successfully completed the bachelor's degree are awarded with an Industrial Engineer diploma. Among the fields of activity of the graduates; to identify and implement the optimum resource composition required for the enterprise to achieve its objectives, to establish communication between the senior management and other functions of the business, to take part in the human resources management, to offer the alternatives to the decision maker, to carry out the quality control activities, to carry out the planning and control works in various fields of activity.
In addition to this, graduates can also take part in tasks such as control of production systems, management, total quality management, operations research, decision sciences, artificial intelligence and expert systems, human resource management, senior management, software, computer aided industrial systems design and implementation. Also, they can contribute to education and teaching while making academic progress as a lecturer in universities, and can conduct scientific research and research.
